- Conduct Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) testing to validate control behavior against design specifications and project requirements
- Develop and maintain test setups, automate processes, and ensure efficient studies with well-organized indexing/documentation of large datasets
- Design and validate controls for diverse utility requirements. Integrate control elements and create test plans to ensure grid stability and compliance with utility standards
- Identify and resolve control and communication issues using first-principles analysis
- Partner with product design and control teams to align simulation models with Tesla’s technology roadmap
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Robotics or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in building and maintaining hardware-software integrated setups. Strong debugging skill for test setups is required
- Strong foundation in electrical principles, circuit theory, and control systems
- Proficiency in automation scripting and control design using at least one programming language: Python, C, or C++
- Expertise in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, or equivalent
- Ability to communicate findings concisely and collaborate cross-functionally with customers, engineers, business development, and deployment teams
- Prior hands-on experience with network switches/protocols, oscilloscopes, and real-time simulation platforms (e.g., RTDS, Typhoon HIL, RTAC, Opal-RT) is a plus
