This position is expected to start August/September 2025 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through approx December 2025) or into Winter/Spring 2026 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Location: Palo Alto, CA
Perform firmware and control validation of next generation Tesla industrialenergy storage
Develop test infrastructure pipeline to validate functionality on various platform such as buck, Control HIL etc.
Develop and maintain test scripts to run automated firmware tests using Python libraries
Test execution for fw/sw feature validation with continuous feedback for feature documentation
Identify, escalate, and resolve issues with hardware and firmware during system bring up, utility performance, and grid contingency test
Hands-on testing, debugging and troubleshooting on product hardware and software
Pursuiring a degree in Engineering or related field
Familiar with Python or C code
Exceptional analytical problem solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems
Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail
Preferable knowledge of at least two power system modelling and HIL tools: PSCAD/EMTP-RV, RTDS, Typhoon, OPAL-RT
Fluent with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, and Git
Hands-on experience with electrical and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact in a complex product
Expert knowledge of at least two power system modelling and HIL tools: PSCAD/EMTP-RV, RTDS, Typhoon, OPAL-RT
Experience to work with database with common tool (SQL, InflexDB, Grafana)
Comfortable with hands-on lab work including the use of scopes/logic analyzers, CAN tools as needed to support test validation
Fluent with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, and Git

$20.00 - $50.00 + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
