What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an experienced Sr. Stock Plan Administrator who will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of our global equity incentive programs, which include stock options, restricted stock units (“RSUs”), employee stock purchase plans (“ESPPs”), and mobility taxation processes. This role will report directly to the Corporate Stock Administration team and will be a part of the Corporate Controllers team. The ideal candidate is thoroughly familiar with global equity incentive programs (options, RSUs, ESPP) for a large U.S. public technology company.

The Stock Plan Administrator role is an excellent opportunity to join a passionate global team at a high growth mission driven company. The role requires experience operating in a high-paced technology company environment with the associated reporting deadlines and requires 'out of the box' thinking to make processes more efficient and streamlined. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have strong organization and communication skills and be hands-on.

The Stock Plan Administrator role will not have any direct reports. This role interfaces extensively with the following teams: HR, Payroll, Legal, Technical Accounting, Controllership, Financial Planning & Analysis, and both Internal and External Audit.

What You’ll Do
  • Process transactions involving option exercises, RSU vesting and ESPP purchases, with a strong collaboration between HR and Payroll

  • Perform reconciliation of records between Stock Administration, HR, and Payroll

  • Maintain database integrity and ensure accuracy of record-keeping of equity data using Equity Edge Online

  • Coordinate with HR/Legal/Payroll to provide accurate mobility taxation for equity vesting in all countries

  • Provide excellent customer service to equity participants at all levels and to partners across departments and respond quickly to employee questions in a courteous and satisfactory manner

  • Help develop materials and other employee communications, contribute ideas and assist with employee education program utilizing various media available, including conducting employee trainings and information sessions (in person and via video conferencing)

  • Maintain documentation of our compliance with internal controls for stock administration and respond to audit inquiries/testing

What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years stock administration (incl. accounting) experience in a US public company

  • Very strong attention to detail and ability to perform self-audit to ensure data integrity and utmost accuracy at all times, including reviewing the work of others

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and proven ability to make informed decisions

  • Active CEP and/or CPA license preferred, but not required
