What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support site facilities, workplace operations, and building maintenance at our Gigafactory New York offsite warehouse in Blasdell, NY. This role is essential in ensuring the facility operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and committed to maintaining Tesla’s high standards for safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do
  • Champion a safety-first culture, following OSHA standards and Tesla’s safety policies
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, dock levelers, and overhead doors
  • Address urgent issues such as plumbing leaks, electrical failures, and emergency response needs
  • Supervise and collaborate with third-party service providers for facility upgrades, repairs, and maintenance
  • Maintain tools, spare parts, and consumables for various building systems, ensuring proper organization and accessibility
  • Conduct daily facility inspections, track maintenance work in CMMS, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Assist with snow/ice removal, workplace logistics, indirect deliveries, and communication with facility supervisors and engineers
What You’ll Bring
  • Vocational/Trade Certification or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in facility maintenance, building operations, or equipment maintenance
  • Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, dock maintenance, and preventative maintenance practices
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, Emergency Response Training, LOTO procedures, and fall protection protocols
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work at heights up to 50 feet
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to Tesla’s mission and values

    Expected Compensation
    • Facilities Operations Support I - $27.20 - $31.66/hour
    • Facilities Operations Support II - $32.71 - $36.15/hour
    + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
