- Perform component and pack-level validation and reliability testing, simulating realistic and accelerated dynamic and environmental conditions on structural, vibration, hydraulic, thermal, and electrical sub-systems
- Design, build, instrument, and automate equipment for battery system and component testing
- Investigate test and field failures to drive product development and test improvement
- Work with Design Engineers, Reliability Scientists, Material Scientists, Quality, and Service to identify failure modes and generate design validation and reliability test plans
- Identify and execute experiments targeting new technologies and critical risks to benefit vehicle products
- Analyze and document test results, and present those results to cross-functional teams and leadership
- Collaborate with Test Technicians to achieve test objectives
- Basic understanding of statics, mechanics of materials, fluids, heat transfer, measurement and instrumentation, and linear circuits
- Experience with an object-oriented coding language and scripting (Python, MATLAB, etc.
- Experience with 3D modelling and drafting drawings of mechanical structures and machinery
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, DAQs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies. Familiarity with high voltage systems and safe working practices
- Physical testing and analysis of mechanical, thermal, or electrical systems
- Experience designing mechanical structures or machinery
- Experience with Python scripting for hardware control, data processing and analysis, and familiarity with software version control
- Experience creating, and executing design validation plans and test methods to validate performance requirements
- Understanding of multiple of the following: solid mechanics, FEA, fatigue and failure analysis, pneumatic or hydraulic systems, physics of failure
- Experience with analog circuits, digital systems, and electrical test equipment

$80,000 - $174,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
